i like what you did with it though it would be better if a little more subtle of a page curl rather than the huge one that you have here.

okay, i really like what you've done here. The problem is people have grown bored or page curls. When using fuilters you should try to be very.. ugh... clever with em'. Don't just use straight filter.. use them to your advantage, manipulate them. okay dude. keep trying, but for now remove the page curl.

The first one was better. It sounds like you're just learning the quirks of the digital art realm, and here's a rule: NEVER let filters define your work. If you use filters, don't make it so obvious. And this, this is BLATANTLY obvious. Allow the filters to work with the vision you see; don't allow the filters to be just your work. Anyone can put colors up, run through a few filters, and be done with it. However, if you look around at some of the more elaborate works, you'll notice that yeah, they use some filters, but they use them in a way so they all work together to form a specific look that is their own. Look at some sites, such as Wasted Youth.org , or Phong.com , or ThinkDan.com for tutorials to get some of the tricks down. Don't get frustrated, but just work harder. Oh, and another rule that I haven't seen you break yet, but just to be forwarned: NEVER USE FILTER/RENDER/LENS FLARE! EVER!!! heh heh... OUT!
