Description I got the idea from 'spirited away', the idea of a water god contaminated by mans waste. Quite an apt theme these days I guess.

Anyhoo, this was a rehash of a speedpaint landscape I did quite a few years ago. I've had it sitting on my harddrive gathering dust for the last three months - guess it's time to post it!

Thanks Solomon. I think this was the third time I painted this landscape. I was never happy with it but I was pleased with the theme (at least lol)

Third time. Wow, you must like big oily monsters strolling about. LOL. I remember that movie Princess Mononoke. The Angry God scene was pretty surreal.

Some people tell me it reminds me of fern gully? I was thinking more about spirited away when I did it.

Wow, again with the rocks

Great perspective and sense of distance with this one, really like the addition of the row boat, creates a great scale against the creature....

Sorry I'm late commenting on this piece!
It's wonderful though. The texture on the mountains makes the painting look quite realistic, and the monster is scary.. haha.. it reminds me of that slime thing on spider man 3.

hey buddy, MAN i cant even believe how much detail there is in this badboy, I really dig it, especially how the oil/mud strains to take shape as it gets up to walk.
damnn this reminds me of one of my favorite animations and also pro-enviro movies: fern gully. If you havent seen it, i highly suggest it.

very good.an outstanding piece i love how much depth there is to the back ground.you really created a visual experience this also reminds me of nausicaa and the valley of the wind.but then again it all relates to mananoke and spirited away cause it comes from none other than Hayao Miyazaki.great job.
