I made a shimeji of my favouritest cartoon character ever! ^o^he's not perfect but hope you like him n.n
how to get him up and running
click on the link below, download the file, unzip* it using an unzipping program (try 7zip, its pretty good), then just double click the shimeji icon inside the folder and a little Gir should fall down

*to unzip a file just right click it and choose the option 'extract' or 'unzip'

i unzipped the file and ran the .jar file, but it only gave me the icon on my task bar and there is no tiny gir, what happened?

Ok.. So It's been a few years since you've made this and recently I've downloaded it. And now my screen is literally filled with them- and I mean..too many. If Its not any trouble, May I ask how to delete them? Since there's been too many on my screen.

WolfieAndSans .... I know Iβm late, but you can also simply limit the amount of shimejis to one, then add the exact amount that youβd like.
I personally just prevent any shimeji from cloning themselves and simply add the exact amount that I want active. You have to fiddle with the behavior.xml file to limit it to one shimeji.

Just delete the file and re download, or go to your taskbar in the lower right and there should be a thing for the widget and then right click and it says reset to one or something like that

Did you ever figure out how to get Shimeji's to work? It took me about 30 minutes to figure it out. I need to download Java 6 32-bit version. The Shimeji is going to have both a .jar and .exe file. Just use the .jar file. Right click on it and open with Java. That should do the trick.Β

*EDIT* solution found. if you have google chrome, go to your settings, then advanced settings, in the privacy spot uncheck "enable phishing and malware protection" then download the shimeji, and get it working, then go back to the advanced settings and check the same button as before.
