Gimp is pretty much functional and its free! Gimp is almost a clone of photoshop

I would say explore, there are video tutorials on youtube. Taking the image is only small part of the battle, I enjoy the post process almost as much as the shooting process!

Hi Eddy, This is not HDR in the multiple exposure sense. This is only on exposure fine tuned with adjustments made with curves, contrast, sharpness and selective Dodging and burning. It also helps in this case the time of the year and day....I live In northern Ohio. I am pretty far north and in the spring and fall the light is different, lower, and more directional with out the color of the sun changing.
