Description Portrait of Frederic Lyon (Ben Whishaw) from the brilliant BBC's tv show, The Hour.
About 8 hours of painting. Oil brushes on a painter canvas in Corel Painter 12 with my Wacom Intuos 4M.

Merci beaucoup ! Je suis très touchée ! Les contrastes étaient vraiment intéressant sur la photo d'origine. Un visage complexe et pas facile à aborder par contre. Au fait, tu as commencé un portrait du jeu sur star-portrait ? Ce comédien fait parti du lot !

Ah bon, il fait parti de ceux qu'on peut dessiner ??? C'est vrai que son visage n'a pas l'air facile à dessiner ... Non, je n'y pensais plus du tout, au jeu, il faut que j'y pense, je le ferai au dernier moment comme d'habitude !!!

Je n'ai toujours rien commencé de mon côté non plus... Il faut vraiment que je m'y mette... Et là, vu que j'ai proposé le thème du jeu, je ne peux pas dire que les modèles ne me conviennent pas...

Very well done...keep it up. A hint: Edges always darken; they are merely the limit of our vision like the edge of a cylinder v.s. the edge of a cube. Our eyes can't receive as much light reflected light as from planes or surfaces perpendicular to our line of sight. Photos are deceptive and can show bright reflected light on or near edges that will make a painting look distorted or flat. Most of the highlights are well placed and look good; some of them should have a color that is near white and shows the color and temperature of the light source. You have a lot of talent! It is worth my time to make such a long comment if this helps you. Here are some great books from a master teacher and famous magazine illustrator from years ago.
