Description
This is a Ranger Special Operations Vehicle (RSOV), a highly modified Land Rover Defender used by Ranger units in the US Army for the purpose of being a heavily armed, rapid defense platform. In this case, the vehicle is armed with an FN M240B 7.62mm Machine Gun next to the front passenger seat, a roof-mounted Browning M2 .50 Cal Machine Gun as its main armament, as well as two AT-4 disposable anti-tank rocket launchers strapped to the roof. Alternatively, a Mk.19 40mm Grenade Launcher could be affixed in place of the M2 .50 Cal. There are four different variants of the RSOV, the Weapons Carrier (shown here), the MEDSOV (MedEvac vehicle), the MORTSOV (Mortar Carrier), as well as a communications variant. The vehicle only requires three crew members; A truck commander or TC (Front Left seat) a Driver (Front right seat), and a gunner (rear compartment), however it can also carry two additional crew members (an anti-tank operator and an RTO) as well as a small dismount team of three, which would typically consist of a grenadier, gunner, and rifleman.
