You should be proud of your dad, he fought and suffered for his actions in a war that we didn't really lose, but really just decided not to finish

Your dad did a great job back in Nam. He was a real American hero. Be proud of him. Beside come to think about the outcome of the war and its impact, America didn't loose it infact they have won it. Stopping COmmunism trends in Southeast Asia and the rest of the world.

Nope. Vietnam became communist, so they lost.

Actually America DID win the war. Back in late 72 during operation Linebacker II or the Christmas bombing, Hanoi sent a secret telegram to the US declaring that they surrendered because of the USAF's precision bombing of their industrial and military infrastructure is dead on the money. But at that time the US kept the telegram top secret because they don't want to piss off Communist China. Recently it was reveal by a man named Ted Gunderson here, have a lookΒ vnchdalat.blogspot.com/2012/07… .

And you believe that bullshit? You LOST, get over it. Get over nam, and get over your goddamn falling towers.

Let me ask you a question. How can you continues to fight a war whether its guerrilla or conventional when your infrastructures and economic assets are destroyed your guerrilla army suffers mass desertion, your regular army is far too undermanned and undertrained? And you're talking to a real Vietnamese in Saigon who spend 8 years of his life to research the war of his country.Β

"How can you continues to fight a war whether its guerrilla or conventional when your infrastructures and economic assets are destroyed your guerrilla army suffers mass desertion, your regular army is far too undermanned and undertrained?"

True revolutions new end in the opresser [USA troops and government] winning. If they lost, they wouldn't be communist, Get your facts straight. If you think we won, you truly do have an ignorant mind like most people of the 50 states. The USA hasnt won a war since nam. You couldnt even place a government in somalia. In the movie blackhawk down, they tried to do just that and they lost. They caught the leader sometime latter, but another took his place.
You need to understand that what you read was a hoax and a conspiracy theory, like the Illuminati. If you dont get away from them, then you will be an even more ignorant American.

Post script: It's ill-trained not undertrained

I see you don't have much in terms of military, the saying that America hasn't won a single war since Nam is an understatement. Remember Grenada, Panama, the Gulf War or Bosnia? Those were real victories right there. And i know my info source, why? Cause my grandfather fought that damn Vietnam war too. And he knows who was winning and who was loosing.

"I see you don't have much in terms of military, the saying that America hasn't won a single war since Nam is an understatement. "

Then tell me right now, are any of those places secure right now?

And your grand father docent know jack if he was on the ground. The army keeps its info hidden from its people for a reason, you lost the war. The viet cong killed them and I wish they killed my step father. He bombed kids over there and don't you dare say itΒ wasn'tΒ his fault. He knew it was wrong and he did it anyway.

In Grenada the US secured not only 600 American mdeical students taken hostages by Grenadian military. They overthrow the military goverment that enforced strict curfew orders. In Panama was a swift victory overthrowing the military dictator Manuel Noriega and stabilized country. Kuwait was liberated in 91 by US troops and those country were stable and till this day. FYI my grandfather stick his neck for the boys of the ARVN navy in the Mekong Delta as much as US troops does. And he had seen how the Viet Cong and US troops faired against each other.

Then he should know that his people lost. You USA hasnt won a war since na- world war 2! Korea, you have a cease fire that is going on TO THIS DAY. Nam, USA let the south fend for themselves resulting in the north killing them and taking their land. The point of the war was to stop communism, so you failed, Vietnam is communist that is non-debatable. Somalia, still a shit cause America couldnt leave it alone. Iraqi and Afghanistan, where are those weapons of mass destruction? Oh wait, they never existed. Securing democracy in the middle east? ISIS has undone that too. I don't respect usa soldiers anymore, their all scum.

You're the kinda person vets want to punch in the mouth. And if I meet you, I want to punch you in the mouth. Your stepfather stuck his neck out in 'Nam, be proud of that. Β If you don't respect US soldiers, get out of our country then. I'm fairly certain you don't live in this country, based on that spelling. You USA? Their all scum? Soldiers take all kinds of crap from people, especially after 'Nam. People were spitting on them, calling them baby killers. I'd like to see you shipped off to Afghanistan. Soldiers aren't the scum, it's people like you who are the scum and don't appreciate what they do for us.

You only truly understand what vets go through when you go through it as well. You probably bought into what the media says "Soldiers Slaughter Unarmed Civilians," when in reality, those "unarmed civilians" were armed to the teeth and already fired at those soldiers. That's war. It's scary and most people are traumatized by what they see. You'd most likely be one of those people who during basic, you pull out the card that gets you out of PT, you'd quit training after you're exposed to the tear gas. You wouldn't last a deployment. Hell, you're probably a Taliban informant.

My grand father fought in d-day. He landed in France. They captured him and beat him till he was deaf in a ear. When he got out, he helped the Russians and got back at the innocent women men and children who lived near the boarder. If he had a grave, I would piss on it right now and put a censored on my page. And I would never serve the American regime if my life depended on it. In fact, I would rather work for Putin before I served for this terrorist nation.

Wow. He must be very strong now, considering all the weight he had to carry while he was in Vietnam.
The M60 was about 19-25 pounds, while most soldiers carrying the M60's also had to carry 50 pounds of ammo, the regular weight of their their uniform, and their other gear. In total, they had to walk around and carry about 100 pounds.
