I sure don't think this is garbage. That's actually very nice. The most impressive part to me is that you shaped their bodies in just the right way. I've seen tons of drawing of people who are supposed to be giving hugs that just look weird. This one looks perfect.

well the anatomy isn't THAT bad. I still don't like it because It's not an original composition nor pose. I mean it's just directly sideways; and also the coloring and shading is horrible. It's not meant to be my best and it's not even my average. It's just a 20 minute doodle is all

xD "the anatomy isn't THAT bad." That's a textbook example of an understatement if I ever saw one. ^^ Looking through your gallery, I can see that you have other better drawings. Sideways is also the easiest way to draw. But for 20 minutes, that's way better than anything I could hope for. I'm very impressed! How long have you been drawing, anyways?

all my life but I've got little experience in human-like anatomy until recently.

Wow, I never would have had the attention span to try to draw when I was young! ^^ I've always thought it would be cool to be able to draw, but I didn't start until a couple of years ago.

yeah everyone says that xD
But I could joy in just drawing when I was younger so it didn't matter to me if I was good or not; though always strived to get better

It was particularly hard for me because I aspired to draw really well, but was too lazy and couldn't focus long enough to really try very hard. I've really had to force myself to practice, but I've gotten to a point where I'm about satisfied with my abilities, enough so that it's entertaining to draw instead of just frustrating. I still want to get a lot better, though.

well I suggest looking at tutorials or looking at lessons in drawing art on youtube. It's easy if you know the right frame of mind

I've tried that before, but I think I learn better by example. I have a bunch of images I've saved on my computer of things that I think parts of would be cool to draw. I use bits and pieces of them for references as I draw, but I always try not to copy anything, unless it's purely just for practice.

Actually it's not called "Copying" it's called referencing. Every artist out there has used referencing. All the greatest painters and such have never gotten the way they are without referencing from either life or other artists's work. Copying would be like tracing a photo. Tracing DOES help with proportions and anatomy but it does upset a lot of artists and dopesn't require much skill.

Well, I consider referencing using similar things, while copying is using the exact same thing. I sometimes copy things because it helps me learn the way to move my arm in order to draw. It's kind of like practicing the motor skills for later. I don't save the things I've copied, though. I just toss them when I'm done. I used to do it more when I was learning, and I think it did help me. Now I almost always just reference them, since I'm good enough at drawing that I can draw original things.

Something with a deeper meaning, more depth, anatomy, background, perspective, a greater contrast with colours and such. This is just a cheap overdone sideview shot of a couple there's not much to 'get' in this picture. There isn't even that much detail. Personally, a drawing like this would never pop out to me or mean anything to me. I mean; I don't even like the eyes lol. A better drawing would be something I put more effort I to; this was pretty effortless if you ask me.
