Mermie, my evil Merman.
Yeah, I know the name is not evil.. I've been thinkin about names, but well, Mermie is Mermie.

I'm in my kill the ******* scanner mood, because it made most of the water background disappear.. and as Mermie should be my contest entry for ' June contest for dark mermaids or merman, it's quite a sad thing. My camera should be back from service within 3 weeks, so it's not hopeless for me to get a better shot than this scanned image.. Or I'll be begging my sister to take a picture of it before she leaves.
I deliberately didn't do more blood, I don't want Mermie to look gross.. Earlier stages of Mermie can be found in my scraps.
Done with watercolours and a fineliner for the lineart.
All the fish actually exist, even though some look extreme.
I used references found on google for the head, (which you'll never recognise.. ) upper body of Mermie and the fish. Mermie's lower body is based on that of a Sea horse, but I had to make it fatter and longer, because Sea Horses have skinny lower bodies.

FULL VIEW, PLEASE! for the sake of the details that weren't killed.
