Shading is one of the things I love most. I've had a pretty good teacher back in high-school, and he was all about shading!

I'm a fast paced person, especially in art - I sketch, I scan, I touch up and color all within a max of two hours depending on the complexity of the drawing and the shading is one skill I have to actually take time to do if I want it to look right, even then I always feel something is off with it. You're lucky you got a good teacher >.< Jealous.
