Description
Not all Epimethian ichthiids are without a skeleton. Osteichthiids possess a skull, six mandibles, body cage, and tail. Their fins are not structured like Earth fish, rather a latticework of cartilaginous rods anchored to a bony base. All of the simpler Osteichthiids are herbivorous, their mouthparts specialized to whatever type of aquatic phytoid they prefer.
