It's from a photograph so seconds. Unusually for me I had a very clear idea in my head of the pose before I started the photo shoot and took very few images. Often I flounder around for ages with the model in various poses trying to get what I want.

Occasionally, I do some drawing directly from the model, but mostly I take a whole load of photographs and work from sometimes three or four (plus the drawings) for the final painting. Unfortunately I don't have the time or the money to have models sat posing for hours whilst I get it right!
