nice work, do you by any chance like Gustave DorΓ© or Alphonse Mucha? I am asking because i need illustrations for a classical mythology, this would be a job like illustrating Milton or the Bible sort of. If you like to read just about the main characters i can send you some introduction just let me know. Its a classical greek allegoric tale with muse angels and goddess written for the arts itself, and has a lot of gothic and misanthropic touches and fantastic scenes and some steampunk ideas in it

I feel the calm mood of the painting is due largely to the absence of detail around the subject. Minimal use of color also adds to this effect, though the color used is well placed. Situating the subject in the very center was an excellent choice. I just love how the deep blood-red dress works with the blue. It wouldn't work as well if the red weren't grounded by the brown of the sand. Well done!

I could easily fall in love with this painting. Its like already has been said before, looking at it makes me feel as if I am there on a lovely morning at the beach. Also somehow you managed to keep us viewers close and yet the woman sometimes disappears to the back. I dont know how to explain this but maybe you understand what I meant.

Most welcome. Quite large, though you've created the illusion of it being larger. Again, well done.

I was just commenting on the 'detail' version of this and then came across the original! Its beautiful, the composition and lighting really make the form look beautiful. The colour accents in te red dress and the blue sea behind her pop out, but don't make the piece jar at all. Gorgeous!

This is great. This is a pose that I would look for in a drawing project, mainly because it shows the beautiful shape of the leg, and brings a story to the picture, rather than just a still portrait. Excellent

I love all of your paintings, but I especially like this one.
The reflection of her legs in the standing water, the way her strap fell off her shoulder, just the subtle things make this painting, for me.

Beautiful wife, lucky man! Great stuff. I'm going to recommend another artist: Jacky Vettriano [link]

I've always loved the narrative aspect of Vettrianos work. I understand he has an autobiography coming out soon - should be interesting reading!
