Don't think so Greg. As I've never worked with Grace before, I'd like to do a few drawings to get to know her visually - if that makes sense!

It does make a lot of sense I think. You have to get an understanding of what you want to draw/paint. At best you know it by heart heart before you even start, so you know how to draw what you don't even see - if that makes sense.

And more sovereignty, if that's the right word. Which is probably what I admire the most about other artists. When it looks like they just know by heart what they're doing. When every stroke just easily seems to be placed where it belongs.

i love it.....can u give be some tips on how to execute quick drawings..and some simple way to get the proportions right.....whenever i draw the face somehow becomes lopsided or the eyes are not aligned with the nose....etc...when i take the drawing to the mirror....they show up clearly...

You should be able to keep things in proportion if you get the construction lines right. Ways of doing this are in most books on drawing, but the one that helped me the most when I was learning was 'Drawing the Human Head' by Burne Hogarth (the guy who did the early Tarzan comic strips). If it's still in print I would certainly recommend trying to get a copy.
