Sorry about the cheesy title, it's the only thing I could think of x_x And it seemed to fit.This be Chi, from Chobits. There's nipples. Er, fanservice.
Anyway, this was drawn on a big piece of crappy manilla paper that I cut in half, so it ended up being 20"x12.5"... Damn, that paper ate the pencil lead like no tomorrow. I had to constantly keep going over lines. I learned alot about controlling my hand over smooth curves. I'll never acheive CLAMPdom, but at least I can say I tried.
I cleaned up the lines as best I could, and gave it a little coloring job, but I didn't wanna get very detailed... I want the sketch to speak for itself. I hope you can hear it

To start, this a very beautiful concept with sophisticated coloring.
However, it never hurts to improve. I know your art depends on a lot of stylization of the figure. Sometimes it works, sometimes... not so much. ^^ I think consistency is part of getting it right. Knowing the real anatomy is another.
Just one thing in particular really sticks out to me here.
She doesn't have a ribcage.. at all... just breasts... and a tummy...
My advice, if that doesn't seem wrong to you, is to try drawing some women paying special attention to the torso and ribcage the way it is in real life.
You'll probably go back to your old art and wonder what was wrong with you when you drew the figure this way. Or maybe not, but that's how it happened for me. I just thought I'd share. ^_^
