also known as TASC-02-SCF Logan in the original Super Dimension Cavalry Southern Cross, I think it safe to assume most people outside of Japan were exposed to it as part of the Robotech series of repurposed anime space operas.

Always considered a weak link in the series, already largely obsolete by the time of the Robotech Master's Invasion, it was still always my favorite mecha of the Southern Cross chapter, even above the mighty Spartas Hover Tank. For me it would rank up there with the Cyclones of the Invid Invasion, and Destroids of Macross.

Small and nimble, the Flying Cat IMO was as much a victim of bad tactics as anything. It's tiny size should have allowed it to easily skirt city streets, industrial parks, and even the hulls of the Master's own ships, using ambush tactics, but instead most often stood out in open combat, that left it outmatched and outtgunned, by the usual vast numerical superiority of their enemy.

As a Battletech idea... I still toy with making an experimental Protomech LAM out of it.
