Description gave me the inspiration to do a greenscreen tutorial quite some time back, and practically made me finish working on it tonight...SO YES, FINALLY!!!  Here's a long-awaited tutorial on how to use greenscreens and edit them in GIMP.

If there's anything you've seen me do in my posters that you would like me to make a tutorial of, let me know!  And actually make me do it this time, otherwise I'll completely slack off on it like I did this one x.x

Background image from here .

Greenscreen models for SFM can be found in the SFM workshop.

Why is doing this silly pose?  Educate yourself in the ways of Ace Ventura, you goof!!

SFM creation.  Edited in GIMP.

You can remove the green outline far easier: Select the green with the color select tool thing there (dunno how it's called in english), go to the selection menu and choose to make it 1 pixel wider. After that simply smooth the edges with the filter tool.

Yep, Psycho told me right below.  But thank you though!  It definitely makes the process easier for everyone ^^

Also you can save yourself a lot of time by using the "Edit Selection" tab.
You can shrink the borders down by 1-5 pixels and it removes the edges quicker.
Fantastic and informative tutorial none the less

I haven't seen any options to do that in GIMP, but I can always do some further experimenting and see if there's anything like that.  Thank you though!!

And thanks once again! ^^

Right under the [select] tab you'll see a option that says "shrink selection" where you can alter the overall size of the area.
But anyways no problemo :3

Ohh, I got it now!!  But for some reason, I have to use the "Grow" option, otherwise the leftover green isn't selected.  Thank you so much for this tip!

The greenscreens in the SFM workshop have multiple skins to them, so you can actually change the colors of the greenscreens as well, for just such things as a green misc item.

In this case, when you load up a greenscreen in SFM, right click it like you normally would to change the skin on it.  From what I remember with using these greenscreens, there are green, red, blue, white, gray, and black skins.  So you can still do everything shown here.  It just won't be a "green" screen ^^

It's safe to assume that anything I say is in a joking manner unless I say I'm being serious. xD
