I saw that at Gamestop. I thought they weren't gonna release it in the US, but apparently they did. How does it play? What's it like?

It's the best JRPG I've probably ever played. You work together with teammates controlled by AI and fight in real-time. Your character auto-attacks, but you have to control special attacks. So it's a bit like Dragon Age combat, I guess. But much better, if you ask me. You don't control normal attacks but there's a lot to do and pay attention to.
Plus, the world and every area is simply massive. There are tons of times when you'll see something way in the distance that looks like it's probably just some distant thing you can't get to, but you can actually go there. [link] And the entire world exists on two massive, dead, still-standing giants. Not to mention how beautiful it is. 
The story is really good, too. There's even achievements. Seriously, this game has everything.

I love that sword. It looks like a crazy fusion between red Hot Rod and TRON motorcycle, and it transforms and has an awesome, giant laser.
