Beautiful work! I'm a Piney (born and raised in the Pine Barrens) and a big fan of the Jersey Devil and local lore. This is one of the few wonderful renditions I've seen! Great job!

Of course, he wouldn't be an orphan if he hadn't slaughtered his entire family.

Supposedly the cursed 13th child of a Mrs. (or Miss) Leeds, born in the Pine Barrens of southern New Jersey in the 16th or 17th Century. She was tired of having children, & in her anger during labor, she screamed out, "I am tired of children! Let it be a devil!" & so she gave birth to a disfigured baby, which became the Jersey Devil right before her eyes. He then allegedly flew up the chimney & out into the night, & the rest is history. The supposed birthing house of the Devil is no longer standing, however, & a multitude of "Jersey Devil sightings" have been reported since then. a couple nicknames for the Devil are Jabberwocky & Leeds Devil. Can you tell I'm a New Jersey native?

Wait, I thought when it was born that it was a normal baby boy named Lucas with blond hair and blue eyes, then minutes later it turned into the Jersey Devil.

Very, very cool. Reminds me of the Jersey Devil stories that we all used to tell eachother in elementary school, hehe. Awesome job.

Nice picture. ^_^ Rock on Jersey. Anyone who's been near Leed's Point in the Pinelands can totally understand the urban legend. ^_~ I speak from experience.

I don't feel like any amount of words I list can portray the brilliance of your shading. It's phenomenal in all ways; shadows, texture, detail.. mindblowing beyond compare. I just can't form words. This is absolutely stunning and I wish I knew how to express it.

That is awesome! Doing it on the creme cardstock really makes it look like an old time field study of the monster. Shading, anatomy and imagination in its design are just great.
It still looks fearsome but also sad.
beautious!

Excellent rendition of the Jersey Devil, I love it! You should submit it to some sites on the creature.
