Thanks Michelle. It was a nice, but frosty sunrise. I have another from further up the road after the sun rose, but photomatix is not doing it justice. Back to some manual blending. (This shot was also blended in photoshop, not so much for the dynamic range but for the varied contrast in the foreground and hills)

I really do prefer Taggerty Dawn. IMO, it is one of the best shots you have done. (And looking at the number of faves it has accumulated, I would say I am not alone.)
But you are certainly allowed to have your own preferences, and I am not trying to influence you.

Thanks Michelle. There does seem to be a real division between the two depending on what people like according to the comments. I have have also had Stamatis say the other one is my best. They are very different shots, but as you said, the statistics point towards this one. Very interesting.

Well, I am learning that comp is not everything, but the comp on this is SOOO good. Textbook composition I'd say. And the reason that they put something in the textbooks is because it works. You have the proportions, different kinds of contrast (color, texture, etc.), practically perfect focal point, visual interest, etc, etc...
