"Gog" is the colloquial name for members of the Pachoulosoidea superfamily, a clade of rodent-like creatures with opposable thumbs, prehensile tails, highly neuron-dense cortices, and the ability to digest plastics. Aside from those uniting factors, gogs are remarkably diverse, ranging in size from mouse to medium-sized dog and displaying a spectrum of behaviors that can vary enormously from species to species.

- Some gog species are primarily scavengers while others may be primarily predatory and all gogs are omnivorous, though, individual species may have strong leanings towards herbivory, carnivory, insectivory, or piscivory.

- Most gogs are gregarious but a few species are strictly solitary. A group of gogs is called a "goggle" and their young are called goglets.

- Mating habits vary from one species to another with the most common arrangements being monogamy and polygyny, though, a few species are notable for polyandry.

- Most gogs are furred but a few species have osteodermic plates or keratinous scales. Dolphin, glass, and rock gogs are totally smooth-skinned.

- Terrestrial gogs dig elaborate chambered burrows or dens while arboreal gogs may build nests or tree colonies much like birds and gryphon species.

- The intelligence of gogs can vary drastically with the smartest being capable of problem solving and complex communication.

Horned river gogs are among the most intelligent of the pachoulosoidea superfamily. They have been observed using tools to fish and capture insects which constitute the majority of their diet alongside berries, nuts, and seeds. They exhibit complex communication and are even known to name each other. Horned river gogs form symbiotic relationships with numerous other species and they even keep pets which tend to be gryphettes, boaks, and dumblefish.
