Trust me, the skill level required to draw manga is not low level skill. Don't undermine it. You need to learn all about anatomy before you can change the style to manga/anime. It's not easy. As with any art form, there are difficult things to master and it takes people just as long to master anime/manga art as it does realistic art. Not pretty, you say?

It is a very respectable art form. You've probably just been looking at low-level manga. But there are many different styles which are all incredible beautiful in their own ways.
