colored manga illustration form the manga "Cestus" by Shizuya Wazarai. I know it's almost unknown, but i like the style.Cestus is one of the many "fist-fighters" (pugilus) in the ancient Rome, he fights in the arena to get his liberty back (he is a slave), at his side he has Zafar, an veteran in the fist fight. Cestus is very talented, but he doesn't like to fight, specially when his victory often means the death of his opponent... Win or die... the cruel reality for a slave like him.
The story is located at 55 a.C. , the time of Imperior Nero, and gives a unique portrait of the roman culture, seen trough the eyes of a japanese.
Btw: "Cestus" is the latin therm for the leddern and metal gloves of the fighters to raise the destructive power of their fists.

Sehr gut koloriert. Besonders gut gefällt mir die Betonung von Licht und Schatten. In der Art und Weise macht dir so schnell keiner etwas vor.
Und diesen Manga kenne ich garnicht, nun gut ich informiere mich selten und kenne so gut wie gar keine.
Doch dieser hier klingt interessant.

si, se t'interessano la storia romana e un pò i combattimenti e/o i gladiatori, allora si.... a me gusta! Ho appena comprato il 11°volume, esce ogni morte del papa... (2 volumi in 1 anno, poi niente x 3 anni...)

A Japanese manga about guys beating the crap out of each other in Ancient Rome? Three of my favorite things! Definitely have to look into this.
