I've stuck Raven and Cinder's names into a line from Star Wars IV - A New Hope, the bit where Kenobi faces off against Vader for the first time in twenty years. I'm suggesting that Cinder and Raven might have a history.

My guess is that she's the Dragon (in TVTropes.org terms). She's the villain's top lieutenant and ace enforcer. The actual villain (the 'Black King' in chess terms) is still unnamed, largely unsuspectedΒ and hiding in the shadows. Maybe it's Weiss's dad; it would explain why Weiss wants to be out of his way if she senses something bad about him.
