Judge not others by appearance, for it makes others judge you by the same standards. The animal's spirit is just as beautiful as the fur they had. There are many out there that will simply buy a pelt for no other reason than it being pretty, and leave others to be cut up, scrapped and trashed. I find this to be morally wrong so I enjoy finding animals that aren't rare in appearance, but rare in spirit.
oh my gosh you cant imagine how much i agree with your description!!

Sorry I am asking but I do not understand this subject and I know people collect pelts. Are these pelts from animals that had a natural death or they are killed? Or both? I am just curious about this ><

Oh well, I see no problem on it then! It could be like life before death for the animals. Their beauty preserved and not just throwed away!

Sucks that you seem to be getting quite a few idiotic comments on this
I really love this photo and the song you linked because it made me think. I haven't gotten my pelt yet, but when I was browsing through them I was previously trying to look for only what looked like the biggest and prettiest out of all the wolf pelts rather than realizing how pretty and unique each and every one of them was. This pic made me realize that the pelts I deemed to be not good enough at the time can be pretty in their own way.
Also, don't you think it's funny how the media likes to portray wolves as a boring grey all the time when hardly any of them look grey to me. Most wolves look like varying shades of red, brown, gold, and black to me.

lol, I'm used to it XD!! I just sarcastically reply nowadays :3
Aww, really ;u;? Yeah, that's the message I'm trying to get at :3! And of course there's nothing wrong with getting a spiffy new pelt, but it's also good to look at craft grade animals at times. I totally get that people who actually do taxidermy will go for the biggest and the best. After all, they want their art projects to look nice. But when it comes to collecting, I don't see a reason to always go for the mountable animals, since I most likely won't send them out to be mounted. I see little craft grade animals sitting online for months, even years, with nobody wanting them. They have a right to a good home as much as a new animal, so I offer them mine !
It is funny XD!! I've seen true gray wolves (like the actual color gray) and they're not nearly as common as the normal colored grays like this: [link] . And black wolves are very common, yet most wolves shown are the stereotype. It's quite funny XD!

The animals were most likely not killed solely for the purpose of their fur. Also, human leather has also been used, and there is art and science exhibits that use real human bodies. So don't act like animals are the only ones that have this happen to them.
Also, if you want to be taken seriously and have people actually listen to your arguments, it would be wise to actually be calm in your posts and offer scientific proof why hunting could be considered unnecessary rather than name calling like an idiotic PETA supporter or something of the like.

They weren't killed for their fur so your "point" is invalid and wrong in accordance to my collection. Some of these animals died naturally and others were sick so they were humanely killed to end their suffering. Coyote meat is used in dog food a lot of the time, as well as fox meat. It's rare to just kill and skin an animal just for it's fur in this day and age (that was some petty fashion stuff in like the 1930s). The body is useful for other things, glue, dissections for medical students, scientific research, art, etc. So, yeah, I can answer that's question :/. Coyotes are EXTREMELY overpopulated so many of them need to be killed so that the stronger ones can produce better, healthy offspring. This is what a really sick one looks like: [link] . It was suffering from mange, that can cause a bunch of problem for the remainder of the animals. Two of the coyotes in this picture were suffering from the primary stages of mange so they were killed and skinned as to not waste the useful parts of the animal and protect the healthy population.
