Some Christmas cards I worked on last week.
'Tis the season to put more effort into cards than is entirely necessary or appreciated. Not sure I'll be making any next year.

Eeep! They better be appreciated! The amount of work you put into them... I can't even imagine having the ambition or energy to do that. Heck, I couldn't even manage to go to the store and BUY cards this year. *hangs head in shame*
I think they are beautiful hon. And anyone who doesn't appreciate your work can be sent to my house where I shall promptly *bop* them over the head with a Yule Log.

I think if you become known in your group of family and friends as the arty one the novelty of home made cards seems to wear off for them a little bit. I mean, heck, I stopped showing my parents my art years ago (aside from the occasional piece) because, well, what are they supposed to keep saying, right?

Get yourself an account on Zazzle or some other website that puts your art on merchandise (besides dA) so I can buy postcards of your bird design for next Christmas!! I am in loooove with it!

RedBubble, Zazzle, CafePress are three I know and buy from. I know a chick on here that sells on Zazzle and likes it. They print onto a large amount of products (notecards, mousepads, shopping bags) and allow people to follow you to keep up with your sales and new products. I'd love to see you have your designs on things! I'd be a buyer for sure. I'm sure MANY of your fans on here would pony up.

I draw a chibi picture inside all my cards for Christmas: it's a break from birthday cards, in which I literally fill every square cm with writing (emotional I'm so glad we're friends stuff as well as other things such as quotes from various sources). Last card I wrote I did this, but wrote everything in mirror writing. Once I wrote everything in a really tight spiral over both pages. I also fill up the back cover.
My present gets opened last.

It's really fun doing it (and it scares my friends!). But they do like them. And it's nice to do something different- you know? If it's not special, it's just going to get chucked out. It's become my signature now...
I stuck a five cent piece in one once. 
I've actually spent several hours drafting a card in the holidays, weeks before the birthday...
But I feel that, ignoring how much fun I have, it's worth doing that for my friends. They've stuck with me even though we don't go to school together any more...
(my original reason probably had something to do with sugar...)
