Aw! His feets are huge! Such a sad little face too. He reminds me of mine when we got him as a puppy--he used to trip over his ears. Great photo too. His eyes are lit up and the lighting brings out his reds and softens the whites. Excellent job.

Mm BASSET HOUND LOVE.
I had a basset hound named Molly who Floyd reminds me of. She was an older lady though, we got her from the pound. She was very playful though and would run after us all over the property. However when we were going to move from SD to OR we had to give her to this basset hound farm. TALK ABOUT DREAM JOBS. It had lots of basset hounds of all ages and they had room to play and frolic as they like to do. Silly dogs.

I have a dog (Tuppence - a Westie: [link] ) who had an umbilical hernia as a pup too. Careless backyard breeder too. Same story all together. She is now 2yrs old and is bothering me to go for a walk, so I'll make this quick:

Rescued from a back-yard-breeder, thanks to a friend. His "breeder" was going to kill him because he had an umbilical hernia - a non-life threatening and totally treatable hereditary condition that in her carelessness she bred into her lines.
With a daily massage we were able to reduce his hernia entirely - no surgery needed. Now, almost 2 yrs later, my little guy leads a very happy and very active life. Had his "breeder" had her way, Floyd would be dead.
Shame on her.

Yes, he was a rescue, we got him at 7 weeks (the rescue group got him at 6 weeks just before his breeder was taking him to be killed due to his hernia.)
He's 18 months now, and is the best little hound anyone could ask for.
