Yeah, Drake Bell has that easygoing, chill personality - just like Matt. I could see both of them playing games all day, not to mention the fact that the goggles would suit Drake. XD

While we're on this topic, I really want there to be a properly-done live action American remake. I know that a lot of people are opposed to the idea, but the remake has the potential to be really amazing as long as they pick the right cast and director. Speaking of which, Drake Bell should obviously be Matt, Joseph Gordon-Levitt should be L, Johnny Depp has to be Ryuk, I wouldn't mind Chase Crawford as Light and Brendan Meyer as Near. I don't know about Mello though.

Oh, and I also have to point out that Matt's official hair colour is brown ([link] ). He's not a redhead, which is rather disappointing. But this shows that Drake Bell would make a good Matt.

Well, they discussed it in 2009 and 2010, but they're not sure if it will happen. And if it does, sadly, Zac Efron would be Light. And I still don't understand why people make Matt a redhead with green eyes, when he's a brown head with blue. Even though, since everyone else does it, I just started coloring it that way too.

I read somewhere that they're revamping the whole thing and they hired Shane Black as the director. I read the original storyline on a fan site and apparently they wanted to change Light's back story and have no Shinigami in the movie. However, Shane Black opposed this and wanted to stick to the actual plot line. I don't know for sure if Zac Efron is playing Light.

And as a side note, I like redhead Matt more than brunette Matt.

Honestly, I wish they wouldn't make an American movie. The whole thing wouldn't be such a good idea. In my opinion, I think since Death Note is Japanese, and has Japanese movies, it should stay that way. Americans shouldn't try and change it. And apparently, Light's name will be changed to Luke, so who knows what else they'd change.
And I can't decide which I like better. Redhead or Brunette. I like them both equally, and for different reasons.

I know that you're right, but I'm in post-Death note depression. XD I'm just sad that it's all over. Dreaming that Hollywood would make a good remake is too naive. Maybe one day, the US would team up with Japan to make this movie, but that day isn't coming any time soon. (Did I mention that I wasn't too fond of the Japanese movies? They could use the help from the US to make a better movie.) But you're totally right about the inevitable changes that would be made to "dumb down" the movie to appeal to a wider audience (Hollywood only cares about the money).

I don't really like brunette Matt because he looks kinda like Gevanni. XD

I understand what you're saying, but I honestly like the Death Note Japanese movies. There are just a few things that some of the characters do that are different from what they'd do in the anime or manga. And I read that the American movie will be out in 2015, and they say that Light will either be Zac Efron some Chase guy. They didn't release any other information, except that they're going to show Light in the shinigami realm, which is basically purgatory.
