Thanks It's an okay week so far - some good, some bad...I expect it will be a relief to get rid of that old stuff I am looking forward to spring too - we finally got a new lawnmower and weedeater over the weekend so I can get my garden tidied up. In the meantime the pansies are loving the cooler weather

They are cool - they can't survive our spring/summer so I must enjoy them while I can Unfortunately my lantana burst when we had a frost recently. I shall have to buy some more I think.

I am hoping our cold snap didn't freeze out some of the new bulbs we planted... we shall see. Those plants are tricky sometimes, I agree, with the weather being so weird these days....

Thank you very much Well, I was inspired by you and several others to try ballpoint and I wanted to do an abstract piece, which I don't normally do, so that's why I say I was playing...trying out shading with the ballpoint, etc. I was really happy with the effects I could get. In the past I would only use ballpoint if I didn't have my rapidograph with me so I didn't really take advantage of the shading that is possible with a ballpoint. It was interesting to try, and I liked the contrast between the pen and the pencil. Pen shading shows up so much better in the scan too. I am very happy that you like it enough to put it in your favorites gallery.
