Description Photo by

Costume entirely made, and to head off the inevitable question about my helmet, it's a wonderflex and wire base covered with model magic then hot glued all over, then spray-painted gold.

Based on Yoshitaka Amano's interpretation of the Queen of the Night from The Magic Flute in his artbook, Mateki: The Magic Flute.

Shopped my skin so it doesn't look like it's drying and peeling off D=. And stray hairs. And slight colorization.

Too nuts, I wouldn't even know where to start with making a headdress like that! Excellenttt!

Ooh why thanks! ('u')a If I ever do a design that's in need of this kind of detail, I'll let you know! (I am lazy and normally pick pretty easy costumes, haha!)

Nothing wrong with that! I always pick things within my comfort zone, which is usually heavy on the prop work, light on the sewing lol

Also, as general information, you can read more about this book at Radical's (Radical being Mateki's publisher) website, here . Thanks!

Good evening,

Six degrees of separation and at last we are reunited. And at last I have the title for this character. Good to have met you the first tyme, albeit briefly. Serendipitous to find you again.

Lovely work.

I have another image of you on page 310 of my Dragon*Con 2009 gallery.

Be well,
Thomas

Hello Thomas!

It's great to run into you here, and I apologize for such a long delay in getting to you, I'm not often on this site anymore. Thank you for including me on your gallery, I love all the silly pics of such a serious costume. I didn't realize I ran into you twice! I loved the Durge and Yule costumes at D*C! I'm hoping to swing by again for this year's D*C, I do hope I can run into you because good costumes and personalities such as yourself revitalized my enjoyment of conventions!

I was wondering, I am planning a sort of ambitious costume that I think is well beyond my skill level, but I'm gonna try anyway! Do you mind if I shoot you a private message asking you advice and questions on armor-making? I would love to have your expertise in helping me tackle this new project! What would be the best way to shoot off my questions?

Regards! Awesome to run into you here,
Tina

Thank you so much! I sent you an annoying email, if you feel like answering it, just answer it whenever, sorry if the questions are really dumb haha.

Thanks so much!
Tina

I'm so glad I got to see this in-person at Katsucon. It's just lovely, and your pose here reminds me even of something Amano would draw. <3
