Painful? I'm guessing you mean the corset - actually most corsets that fit properly are pretty comfortable.

If you wear them properly and don't overdo it, they're perfectly fine. You can check Staylace for a lot more info.

The one in this shot, I believe, is an off-the-rack corset from Vollers .
