Parties weren't held too often in the Scouting Legion, so when Mina had spilled that there was a banquet approaching soon, everyone planned to attend, whether for the sake of relaxing or looking socially acceptable. Even Annie Leonhardt, the queen of ice, was present at the party, though she was found leaning on the wall with either Reiner or Bertholdt for the duration of it.

Of course, no party was complete without some booze, set up on the wooden tables in neat rows with cups of varying shapes and sizes alongside them. Most of the alcohol was comprised of wines that no one could pronounce (Sasha asked Levi to pronounce one of French origin, but he scoffed at the cadet before walking off), but most drank it anyway.

The hall was a cacophony of laughing and conversation that wouldn't be remembered the next day, leaving the introverts(the ones that were sober, at least) with a headache. Even so, no one left the celebration for fear they would miss some important event or another.

[First] sat in a small group that had claimed a table in the corner, clinking their glasses in cheers as they talked about anything and everything. Eren's cheeks were reddened by all the liquor he'd consumed, although he wasn't entirely inebriated yet. Mikasa was holding her drink well, looking unfazed and still in complete control of her motor skills. Everyone applauded her for it, and she replied with a detached shrug before jumping into another topic of conversation. Connie sat beside [First], making terrible jokes that everyone laughed at anyway, before Sasha called him over to feast on some food she'd snagged whilst everyone was distracted by the big event.

Surprisingly enough, Armin was the most talkative of the evening, whether it was by the alcohol in his system or the remedy of having a day off, no one really knew. But he spoke of the outside world as if he'd visited it before; great and vast waters accommodated by salt, flaming plains of sand, it was almost too profound to believe. The twinkle in his sapphire eyes proved otherwise, that all he described was authentic.

As the night drew on, the bottles grew emptier, and everyone began to slur their words with each new drink.

Some, such as the blond at her table, had taken to passing out in various places; on the floor, table, you name it, someone was sleeping there. Luckily, [First] found the boy slumped over a table with an empty glass clutched in his fair hand. She smiled before prying his fingers away from the handle, and returning it to the kitchen where the dishes had piled up in the sink.

When she returned, he was in the same spot she left him, still hunched over the wood. As she tried to move him, a slight groan erupted from his lips.

Well, at least he's not out cold.

"Hey, Armin, you gotta get up now, okay?" Her voice was soft, knowing that he probably had a killer headache from her own experience. She was met by another groan, making her roll her eyes and prop his arm around her shoulder, instructing his to stand up.

With a little bit of stumbling and a curse at his own stupidity, he was on his feet, though transferring most of his weight onto her. His eyes traveled over to her own, a look of painful desperation on his face. "I'm sorry for making you take me to my own dorm," he spoke, but [First] simply shook her head.

"Armin, you should know that I would do anything for you. But," she drew out, a smirk taking over her friendly smile, "I shouldn't let you drink so much. You're pretty heavy for as small as you are."
