the greatest Orc in all of WoW's history! The first mortal being to ever fight Sargaeras, and a badass who slaughtered an entire planet of demons all by himself to save his friends! What a heroic way to die. RIP Broxigar, brother of Saurfang!

I love Brox. He is such an amazing character, and I had never heard his name before I read WotA. He's so undercredited >_> I mean he actually cut Sargeras! Haha.

Uncredited because WotA (the trilogy) is not the canon history. :\ Too bad, it was awesome and a thrilling story, but still, not how it officially happened in the history, no timetravel...

Anything written by official Warcraft authors is canon, I've never heard anything about it being not. Blizzard wouldn't hire people to write novels for them if the lore wasn't correct. Sure Knack love his Sues, but it's still canon. Plus WotA is being visited in the next patch as a CoT instance.

I heard that the original WotA was different, but Blizzard wanted something... more interesting and exciting, so they paid Knaak to create an alternative version. I may be wrong then.

Well yeah Blizzard changes and rewrites lore all the time. They did it with Draenei & the Eredar, the Worgen curse, and a bunch of other stuff. It wouldnt surprise me if they had something more 'plain' and then had Knaak do something else for it.
