"Oh my word," Kara breathed, the shock setting in. "You've been babysitting children all this time? When you're a vampire?"
"You saw me with those children, Kara," Nathan said cooly. "I swear I never intended to harm a single one of them. I love them."
"But, you're dangerous!"
"Yes, I'm dangerous," Nathan said slowly. "But so is a policeman, or a soldier, or a blackbelt. Even a domestic dog can maul a child to death. I can suck a child dry. And people let their dogs sleep with their children, while I should be exiled? Be careful how you use that word, 'dangerous'. What it means to you may be different from what it means to me."

These are two of my OCs from a story about a camp for monster kids. Nathan is the camp director/head counselor.
I'm trying to write a romance between a human and a vampire and have it not be Twilight, haha. Heaven forbid that. Somebody help me. X'D

As long as Nathan isn't full of cruddy one-liners, his skin doesn't sparkle in the sun and the human girl isn't depressed and desperate all the time its NOT Twilight.

Nathan's very different from Edward in general disposition; he drinks coffee all the time, goes swing-dancing, and likes to sing Disney songs, pft. He makes great comments, too. X'D
Kara's also pretty perky, haha. And they fall in love and date before she finds out he's not human, so him being a vampire if anything would make her want to END the relationship rather than continuing it. She's smart. ^^

I read most of Dracula a while ago. It was weird, but very interesting.
Lately I've been working on the 'rules' of my vampires, like their powers, and how they can be killed and stuff. I'd love to talk about monster designs and mythology any time, haha. Anything slightly creepy or "Halloween-y" is inspiring to me. ^^

Oh, that's an interesting premise! Kinda like Percy Jackson except with monsters! And don't worry, you shouldn't be worried about falling into the Twilight zone (hehe Twilight Zone). Your writing is 100x more intellectual and thought out than in Twilight, even that one segment for this picture!
Hmm, I think that this camp for monsters could spawn quite an interesting roleplay group eventually...

Yes, it is like Percy Jackson! Almost too similar sometimes, but I'm working on it. It's got loads of fun characters and creatures. ^^ And actually I have been reading Twilight to see what it's like to make sure I don't fall into it, and I must say that the backstories of the vampires are amazing, but the main problem I have with the story is actually Bella. I really don't like her; I think the story would have been good if there had been a different kind of female lead. :/
