she leaves her village with the main characters because she is kind of the village outcast because she is too nice (in her tribe, its a custom that the women must be able to defend themselves and be able to fight to defend their village) and on top of that she failed her rite of passage/initiation (only because once you pass, youre considered an adult, and she doesnt want to have any responsibilities...she just wants to do her own thing). She also has no intent of ever returning, except to see her parents and siblings.
