Cuthbert was a ruthless mercenary in his early years, fighting only for gold and other riches. He immersed himself in every sort of debauched pleasure, one day meeting a woman that surprisingly found a place in his black heart. However, when she was taken away from him, Cuthbert's entire life shifted.

Cuthbert had been a faithless man, not caring much for the gods. Now he had suddenly become seriously concerned with his lover's soul. He found himself pledging his life in service of the God of Light, becoming a cleric in the Order of the White Stars. He fought in their name, taught their way and soon was a famously renowned hero. He was the pinnacle of what everyone in the White Stars would hope to one day be.

As his marking achievement, Cuthbert led a campaign against the necromancers. They were still in hiding since Isra's downfall and were still plotting his return. He had pushed them back to their seemingly impregnable fortress, breaking inside and slaying the leaders, save for one.

Isra's servant, Raphael, proved more powerful then anyone had first imagined. He repelled Cuthbert's attack and then made his move on the man himself. In a struggle, Cuthbert's life span was cut in half to fuel Raphael's magic, but the siphon was cut off and he decapitated the foul wizard. Whether or not he had truly defeated him remains to be seen.
