Description

Drawing inspiration from disparate sources — including the Hojo, the Balero Caibren, the Hyperion, and the Kriegwulf — the S-Type chassis was DiMaki’s first major foray into the medium ACE market. The Sang-eo model has been far and away the most successful of the S-Type derivatives; originally designed for DiMaki security forces, it is a strong contender for the best medium fire-support ACE in the galaxy.

The Sang-eo’s success is built on its unique heat recyclers, which draw power from the heat generated when firing weapons, thus reducing the strain on the ACE’s primary power and coolant systems without negatively impacting firepower. Though its defenses are standard for its type, the Sang-eo’s ability to throw down a withering hail of laserfire makes it a common sight among mercenary and corporate forces alike.

The ACE is often referred to as the “XV Sang-eo”, to the extent that many pilots believe this is its official designation, rather than a nickname. The XV moniker actually began as a dig at the competition — the S-Type’s engineers sought to capture the balance of firepower and efficiency that had made the Hyperion the champion of its age, and labeled their early design “XV” after the Hyperion’s roots in the XON XV-Type.

Payload: Left BehindThe pilot slipped into the seat of their cockpit, it automatically adjusted to her lithe body. The warmth of their ACE blocking the cool chill from the hanger. Brushing back a stray lock of hair, she put her helmet on snugly, leaning back so it touched the headrest.
"Alright Fox Three, we'll go through your pre-check," came a male voice from inside her helmet.  One of the mechanics outside was going to run her through the startup procedure; nothing she hadn't done a million times before.  DiMaki mechanics love their protocol.
Around the chair was like the inside of a globe; smooth hexagonal panelling surrounded her, the chair itself hanging down from an aperture on the ceiling.  Once comfortable, two consoles swung around from the back as the cockpit hatch shut in front of her.  For a brief moment the cockpit was totally dark save for the blinking console lights.  The pilot then felt a twinge at the back of their neck, indicating the neural jack from inside her
