I don't know if I'm the onlyone but I defently prefer your draws with marked lines.
If you want to draw without marked line, you need to add more relief with shadows and light/shine but it's dont really match with your current semi-shibi style.

I totally get what you're saying.
The main reason I didn't do any kinda linework for this is because in flash lines can clip horribly when animating and that drives me up a wall. I originally wanted to do some shiny on the metal bits but got caught up in animating it so I'll probably get to that later.
