Personality:Nathaniel is incredibly disrespectful, usually arguing and rubbing others the wrong way. He can be mature, but doesn't lose his laid-back attitude. Nathaniel is seemingly unflappable, usually not showing fear in public. He can be serious when the situation calls for it, but he still maintains a fairly laid-back demeanor during such situations and is never without a witty taunt or comeback. Nathaniel can seem at times to be uncaring or even callous, but actually has a very strong sense of justice and prefers to fight fairly. Even though he has issues with his own demonic bloodline, he doesn't quarrel with demons that join the good side, like Erberus and Azrael. He cared deeply for his mother and, despite their differences, he also cared for Erberus. His hatred for Azazel is so great, that he completely denies that Azazel is his father.
Funny fact: He HATES swimming!!!

Of course, this is not to insult your Original Character, it is to avoid your Original Character being a Mary Sue. People hate Mary Sues.
And I don't want your Original Character to be hated, of couse.
Mary Sue = Perfect Original Characters with no Flaws and Negative Qualities. These Characters often have Dramatic Back Stories, other Characters are all overwhelmed with his/her Qualities. Even Villain Characters that are Evil are overwhelmed with him/her. If any Character doesn't love him/her, that Character gets an extremely bad Portrayal.
A Good Character's Key is that you pick Character Traits that will make people have different opinions of him, be it hated or loved(Just like Ky Kiske and Jin Kisaragi, not everyone loves them).
Don't put all the traits, positive or negative it may be, just so your Original Character will be "Cool"
People hate those, and will not appreciate those kinds of Characters.
Have balance; there are characteristics that should make him (examples) deep, awesome, conflicting, fitting for his role, funny, etc etc- Not all for the sake of being the idealized character you want or else he will become a Mary Sue.
I'll list the Negative Qualities of my Original Character("Seia Konigawa") for you, as an example.
- Seia has a Naive Attitude. In fact, Seia doesn't even know the True Nature of the Outside World, and how truly Harsh it is. Because, he had put Fascination on his mind first.
And Seia's Funny Attitude!
- Seia goes Crazy/Psycho if he can't drink atleast 3 Cups of Tea in a Day! XD
See? My Original Character has flaws too! Because, perfection is absolutely impossible. It's not all about being awesome.

To summarize it all, I think you should revise your Character and make him more well rounded and deep.

Remember, everyone hates Mary Sue Characters. So, do your best to avoid your Original Character becoming one.
