This is an other drawing with soft pastels.Because I wasn't happy with the paper I used for the last pastel drawings, I bought some sheets of the Canson MiTeintes pastel paper. I have to agree with the artist who suggested to try this - it is really worth the money. Working with pastels is slowly getting fun.
I haven't drawn a racehorse in ages and when I saw the beautiful photo from ~paula2206-photo I knew I had to draw it.
Even if this was more like something to try out the new paper and didn't took much time, I kinda like how it turned out. What do you think?

Beautiful colors! I agree the Canson MiTeintes paper is totally with the cost. I just order a case online- it's a lot cheaper for me to buy it and have it shipped than to buy it from my local art store. You are very talented for someone so young!

I looked it up, you're right - if I order it online, it is a lot cheaper, and shipping costs are hopefully less expensive than a train ticket to the next art store. That's the not-so-nice part about living in a more or less rural area in Germany - for anything more 'special' than coloured pencils and normal drawing paper I have to go to the next town, if I don't want to order things online.

Thank you so much! I use both, but mainly the chalk sticks - I have way more different colours as sticks and only a few brown tones, a black and a white as pastel pencils.

Das ist schade... Bei uns ist eine ganz in der NΓ€he, zwar keine groΓe und bekannte, aber immerhin etwas. AuΓer der AtmosphΓ€re Γ€ndert sich ja nichts, ob ich nun hier zu einem Rennen gehe oder bei Ascot dabei bin (okay, die Chancen, die Queen zu sehen sind in einem Vorort von Hannover vielleicht nicht ganz so hoch...

Yep yep, ich fand die Farben auf dem Foto total klasse, deswegen wollte ich es auch zeichnen... Abgesehen davon, dass ich mich nicht mit schmierigen Minigesichtern auseinandersetzen musste.
