I'm not terribly attached to this picture. It was done entirely in flash at work during a break.I'm not going to finish it, but I put enough work into it to want to upload it.
I used a bit of reference for her ultimate weapon and her face, but in the end the thing that wrecked this for me was that I realized I've been counting height by 'heads' wrong. So this one ends up being 6.5 heads tall instead of a proper heroic 8 heads.
EDIT: I turned down this one's level, as I have a better version in the works, which will be the true 'Tifa level 99'. Sneak preview: She has chains for suspenders. >: D
Oh well, enjoy a slightly too short (maybe late teens? Aah, paradox! New Game + ? ) but level 99 Tifa with her ultimate weapon filled with materia, wearing a slightly modified (and definitely more practical) version of her outfit in Final Fantasy VII.

I used female body builders as reference. The whole idea is to show ignorant viewers what a person who fights her whole life can look like. I.E. Level 90+ meaning super high-level powerful.
In fact, most of the art that's made it to deviantArt is an attempt to experiment with women warriors and challenging the "sexy first" priority.

No, I'm not saying she can't be a warrior. I'm just saying that Tifa can be muscular and beautiful, but her muscles are more manly-like muscles and she's a body builder. There are plenty of people from long ago who fought back in the day that were not that jacked. Example: Bruce Lee. Not Jacked. Jillian Michaels is probably more what she should look like, if I picked any body builder.
Tifa is athletic, muscle-toned but not so much that she looks like Liono from Thundercats.

Fair enough, but I think you're exaggerating. This was primarily an experiment in musculature, and this practice is ongoing.

I think you're forgetting that THIS TIFA is LEVEL 98. You could pretty much beat the game and do everything with half that level. I mean, what do you would think YOU would look like after killing 600,000 dinosaurs or something?

I don't get a chance to draw/scan/colour or even to just doodle in flash that often.
As for her face... I really can't see it, though maybe her neck is too thick, muscles or no muscles.
What would you suggest?

Well as you know, I can barely draw stickmen.. but I would suggest making her neck a bit thinner, and maybe adding some cheekbones?

I'll thin the neck for sure, and although I'll try to put in cheekbones, I think that'd be too classy for a bartender/brawler. I'll fix her face up as there -is- something missing there. I just am not sure what it is yet.
