Description Black ink pen on paper. This is a quick sketch of chimps at play. Obviously this is not as developed as my other illustrations. But I think it has personality.

Yeah, it's really hard....it takes a lot of practice. I went through many bad drawings before I got to these. It's about strong gesture, solid drawings, anatomy, and technique.

Thanks for looking.

Hey its a honour for me to admire your works of art.
You got much talent. You know that, don`t you?
I got an anatomical drawing book..
There I learned a little bit of the anatomy , how and where to set the shadows. But I got still problems with it. Of course it isn easy
Since how long do you draw? In particular studies from the nude?
Hope to see ya...

Your enthusiasm is a beautiful thing. I do feel that I have some sort of talent. But as we all know talent alone done take you to significant places. The way I see it, it only accounts for about 5% of my success. Ninety percent is back-bone busting hard work. And the other 5% is the technical knowledge that they teach you in school.

I've been seriously drawing for about 5 yrs now. It's all about drawing mileage. I know you've heard this over and over again, but to get better.....you have to draw A LOT.Studying and reading helps, but as artists, we're visual learners. Therefore, trial and error is the best approach to drawing well.

I've been told that the only magical tools that exists for an artist are his/her sketchbook and pen.

Thx
yes you are right.
5 years is quite a long time.
Friends telling me often that before u can call yourself as a good artist first u have to consume thousands of pencils, u have to scrub lots of papers and draw many "bad" drawings to get shortly good pics..
but.. im a little bit impatiently. I wann to know everything and now.
but that doesnt work together..
It took lots of time to be good...or similar
.. Your are very nice.. thx for that comment
I appreciate it very much...
Thx

Yeah, it's hard. It's real hard. But this is where a lot of people with little or no talent become more successful than those who do have a lot of talent. If you work hard, nothing can stop you.....not even the art critics or that kid in your art class who gets all the attention.

Oh yeah u are go damn right...
Sometimes it makes u a little bit upset to see that somebody who really cant drow gets lots of good feedback of respectable people and you NOTHING or just some little feedback of some unimportant people.
But.. Hey..
THAT`S LIFE...
But everybody get now or than what they deserve.

you think so? life drawing (really good ones) is hard as fuck. your comment makes me want to blow off the roof top and take my artwork to an even higher extreme.

thanks for the high. you're a bad-ass yourself, from what i've seen.

you're right.

i have a massively hard time with absolute realism. in fact, i suck at it. so i don't even try anymore....

but i have beaucoup de respect for people that can pull it off.

you could always try to mix your styles, you know. like take elements of your ultra cooling looking life drawings and thrash them up with some of the more surreal stuff i saw on your site.

just a thought.

i love sketches.
these are very professional-like.
like those you'd find in a manual,...or maybe
in certain parts of a national geographic,...like
insets.

I noticed that you have an eye for subtle things. You tend to see and appreciate what I call "hidden treasures" . I love sketches myself......it's too bad not many artists show them here in DA.
