Thanks so much Ribbs! Acekantun's smaller head is a bit of a mess up on my part, it should be a tish bigger, but it still seems disproportionate for Ace's size because it is so fluffy x'3 That's also why Acekantun appears so giant-it's all the feather fluff and its puffing it up! hahha I've been a sucker for the principle of Yin yang/Tao in general for a long time, and I think that's how these guys were subconsciously born.
Over the past few years, it has changed a bit but not substantially. It really changed from some of my first works, not in the overall theme but in the connections between characters/events and relationships type of thing. Life has definitely taken over but I still try to write in my free time. I've been at a standstill with it though because I wanted to rework the prologue so the concepts of my story make more sense, and then as I rewrote I discovered an accursed plothole, and thus I must proofread all that I have to make sure I iron it out. Because I hate plotholes in any story, it completely ruins it for me hahaha With over 300 pages written, it's taken me awhile to get in the groove because I am never satisfied I am conveying this story well enough or as I see it in my head x'D
I've also debated doing more art so I can upload parts of my story with it ( i have two pieces at 75% for the story, and they've been that way for 6 years or more ;-; ) or just uploading chapters. I get so nervous doing that though given people stealing or taking and what not, and it's a huge part of me I don't want defiled type of thing, if that makes sense. I just really need to be brave and put it out there; I talk so much of my characters and no one really knows who they are because I put them in no context what so ever. And since technically I'm publishing it online when I upload to this site it should be fine, but it's just that paranoia in the back of my head >.>

Ey, you're very welcome! Digging through your gallery has really been a treat, I pop in here every few days and get further. It's pretty great!
Giant owl monster all puffed up? Awww that is so damn precious, and for some reason I can imagine petting him would be like squeezing one of those krinkly plastic lei . I just can't get over how cute yet intimidating his design is! There's definitely a mysterious air to him.
But hey, you're very welcome and thanks for answering my questions! Sometimes stories are a pain like that, you get several hundred pages in and suddenly find huge things to rework. With enough diligence all plotholes can be fixed, so I hope you find a way to in the future! Always remember that the first draft is a test run, and full of kinks-- "write a story, then do it again" is some of the best writing advice I've ever gotten. Doing art with which to upload the chapters sounds like a great idea! OH MY GOODNESS I'm with you 200%, having a story but no bravery to post it is sssssso bad. I've actually had people ask if I have a story for my charcters and it's like yes, yes they do. :'c. Haha! Does your story have a name yet? I'm super eager to learn more about it!
*pets Acekantun vigorously*

Aw thank you very much <3 Your interest in my story also makes my day; I am always afraid to put them out there because they do mean a lot and sometimes people on here can be callous. I like critique, but not unfounded critique or closed mindedness especially when it comes to something like this. If it's to help me yes, but not just to tear it down without reason.
And ahhaha yes, no one can resist the Acekantun puff! It probably would be a lot like squeezing one of those leis, but you might get lost in all that feather fluff. I have a concept picture where I tried to draw him slicked down like birds get, and it looks so strange hahaha As a character, Acekantun is definitely amiable and jolly type of creature, but also very mysterious in that sagely way, but I would not want to be on the receiving end of its serious mode. Then again Ace has to be able to keep Chorin in place as well, so that's probably why it can be so intimidating haha
Definitely, stories can be a pain, and it's something I knew was going on but didn't want to be bothered to sort it out till I realized I had that many pages and put it to a halt before I had to rewrite the ENTIRE thing. I think I caught it early enough, but still planning ahead would have been a plus. My friend gives me that same advice and it worked so well for her, but I am so critical of my own work I cannot let it be at what it is without rewriting as I go ahhaha I've also had many people ask me the story behind my characters and give about the same response as you. I'm like...welll yesssss...but you see it's like this..... hahhaha From what I've gleaned about your characters and story, it seems very well thought out, extremely vast, but really impressive. I like checking out your character sheets--they are so detailed and have so much on the character. I always fail at conveying so much information in an orderly fashion.
As for the name of my story it's tentative/original name from years ago was Threads of Moirai, but I'm not sure I will keep it...as I write I just don't feel like it is the right title, but more a chapter name.

Oh my goodness, I know EXACTLY where you're coming from there... (ノ_・。) There's something so deeply exposing about sharing a story, especially one that is personal and comes from the heart. Then there's the fear of rejection, the fear of backlash, the fear of this and that. Ack! May be all learn to open up eventually... Maybe just a little bit!
(I just go the best mental image of "might get lost in all that feather fluff", ohoho gonna throw something in with your commissions~)
Ahaha, gosh thank you for your compliments! It's funny that you mention my megasheets, because that's actually how I cope with my own "mental tangles". Sometimes I'll hit a roadblock with a character, for example I can't figure out their part in a critical plot element, and that's usually when their sheet comes out. Writing out all their info is a good way to pin down my thoughts. Haha! So yeah, every writer has their own style and I hope you find yours soon. It sounds like there's a lot going on in your life right now, so after things ease up I bet you'll have more time and energy to sit down and analyze things. Who knows! Coming back to a story after a long break is usually when ideas flow best!
Threads of Moirai... y'know I actually really like that! It definitely makes me eager to hear more about this project.

definitely! For all those reasons, especially the rejection type of thing, or people stealing it. That or it just being horrible and all this time I thought it was good too ahhaha
I'm really curious to know where you are going with that feather fluff comment >...> haha
That's actually a really great way to work through a mental tangle, I can see how it would help out getting it all out in front of you type of thing. I turn to writing through the characters to be like--just who are you?? And some of them write themselves. I really hope that life eases up, and I have wished that since colllege, but surprisingly it keeps getting more and more busy...I don't understand! But yea a long break is definitely good because I was a bit down trot over my story that it wasn't quite as solid or where I wanted it to be, but I was able to sort some things out and hopefully it's better for that when I get back down to it. Now it's still tentative while I try to complete some art I've owed people for a long time haha

I really like the idea of this cahracter, and how much detail you put in the hair/feathers. I'm especially fond of the spotted feathers along the back.

Thank you. I'm still toying with its design, the 'eye' spot feathers on the back were a new touch to the old design, and I liked them, I just need to blend them in a bit better/differently. Sadly I haven't taken the time to go back and toy with this haha

I REALLY like the new colors you added in there. If I could make one suggestion, I would just sorta drag them around towards the belly and the legs a little more. So far it seems kinda abrupt where they start and stop. I just love this character though- such an AWESOME design

Thanks lady! He seemed toooooooooo just white, granted chorin is just black but yes. And thanks for the suggestion! You are totally right, I kinda tried that but I did a really bad job at fading them out, I think a few more spots like that and fade em over a greater distance would work better. Also PS thanks for you Plague dog paintings!! can't wait to buy a house and hang that shit up. IN THE BATHROOM. jk I'd put it in my living room! I'm SO EXCITED about them!!

LOL his tiny face <3 I just have head proportion retarded, but it seems to work with his design and not all eraserhead baby lookin. and hahah I can see that since the first ref I did of Ace sucked hard core monkey nuts so yea hahaha And those fullbody markings on the back are more recent, the neck ones were always there, but Ace's back was so boring so I gave him God's barn owl markings ^^

Thanks!! Ace does seem to have a tiny little face, and I always think to make it more proportionate/bigger, but it always comes out the same, so I think this character is just meant to be like that hahhaha

I've had characters dictate to me what they're going to be, too. Sometimes all you can do is go with it. Cool image, though.

Sorry for late reply again, Syd! >w<;;;
I'm annoyied that I accidently removed some comment you replied me
and I was going to reply them all...but now I just can't remember what it was
or in what submissions they were. o3o
Haha, I've drawn Ace only once but Ihad to check the ref time after time to get things right.
Still in that sketch I made for you he accidently had too large head. xD
I want to draw him again someday, and this time even colour him!

hahaha I did that with someone's comment the other day too, the comp lagged then OOP it was gone, I was like weighwuoehgei WHO SAID WHAT hahahha That's okay, we'll just blame dA and call it good! XD
I love that pic you drew of him!! I didn't think the head was too big at all...for some reason when I draw him I make a smaller head alwaaaaaays so that must be how he is meant to be or something XD I made it larger and it just seemed weird, but when you draw it in proportion it looks awesome!! 8D
PS-for a white character, he is a butt pain to color!! XD

Lol, let's blame dA, it always works! x'D
Me and Janna blame all bad things on Atlantis 2: Milo's return.
It's so bad from all Disney sequals I can't even describe how stupid it was. xD
Yey! I'm so happy you still like it! >w< Haha, he looks good with smaller head too!
I think it's actually pretty cool it's that size rather than bigger one. :3
White characters are quite annoying to colour sometimes, but atleast you can give them any colour of shade and it doesn't look bad. :3
