oh, and that crumpled up hat over there i found on the street? that is an antique from ancient rome!herman was a really interesting character, kinda wish they did more with him. tbh, each time i watch the simpsons i start to grow more appreciation for the background characters as well.

Same here -every character I dive more into I instantly fall in love with; I mean *every*, really *every* recurring background character is interesting and fun to watch.
That's something I've only seen in the Simpsons XD

ugh, darn the simpsons and them making it easy to be attached to a character that won't be on for another 20 episodes. xD And thanks, if you study the color wheel, real photos and just mess around with different stuff you can learn alot about which colors go well and which don't! : o

Herman was pretty interesting. I feel like in the newer seasons it's been more about "What guest star can we get this week?" and less about developing the characters they already have. It makes me wish they'd decide to go back to characters like Herman and others and give them more development.
And I can totally see him passing of junk like that as "authentic military antiques" LOL

uck i definitely agree.. the new guest-star voice actor characters are kinda soulless and almost never funny compared to the original cast of the Simpsons characters. sadly it seems even the most undeveloped background characters are funnier than a lot of the newer characters in the recent episodes. despite this, I still enjoy the new ones a littleee bit.
and lol, there's a lot of valuable antiques at Herman's antique shop.. even that camouflage-painted bicycle helmet in the corner. xD
