She said "Minä palaan." and yes, it means "I will return." The reason why she was threatening them was that the Moomins were housing the two creatures (Tiuhti and Viuhti/Tofslan and Vifslan/Thingumy and Bob etc. depending on the language) who had stolen a very prized possession of hers (a ruby) and refused to let her confront them or get her ruby back at that time. Later they do manage to strike a deal with her and trade the ruby for a pretty seashell. But no, she never does make friends in the TV series. In the books she and Moomintroll do form a kind of strange but sweet friendship, though.

I remember them, AND A SUITCASE *.* That ruby must have been in there!!!!! Now it all makes sense..!!!!!
But with that being said, now I realize that those 'creatures' pulled of a very, VERY, DUMB move!!
I mean... Stealing from her?!?

Yup. They weren't being very smart. And yes, the ruby was in the suitcase.

Possibly. She occasionally leaves footprints as far as I remember.

I know right? The music in the Moomins was probably the scariest part. Some of the tunes were SOOOO creepy.

I used to really like that super whimsical music that sometimes played while the Moomins were having fun (like while they were swinging across a chasm on ropes). I also like the beautiful music with the lady singing wordlessly (I think it happened a lot when there were flowers blooming and stuff) and I do really like the super creepy ghost music even though it makes me really uncomfortable.

It is one of the scariest things in the show in my opinion as well, yeah. I personally think that the first appearance of the Groke was the scariest. That episode has such a great atmosphere.

Oh, she gave me nightmares too, but then I read the books, which especially in the later books highlight the fact that she's just really lonely and sad.

(Some episodes of the TV series are Jansson's book based on which appeared the groke, and I am not afraid of the groke when it is a mere cartoon figure. I do not belong to as child, of that and I'm not as child, I have followed the Moomins episodes seen again in this decade, I do not pretend, I may have been ..... ... different, but the in elemantry school I have watched Harry Potter and follow still and Playing a video game . Tove Jansson (9.8.1914-27.6.2001) was a Finnish people, like me, but her first language was Swedish, and I have to Finnish. Languages in Finland is more than Swedish languages in Finland, Finland's official languages are Finnish and Swedish. I heard some Moomins and it's a long story.)

The Groke spoke -in one-word statements- in FINN FAMILY MOOMINTROLL. She was looking for her handbag that those 2 imps stole.
