I really love the way this came out, i couldn't help but think of the tree in pocahontas when i was making this ^o^

really lovely. The girl's hair is beautifully painted, as is her face and the hand.
The arm looks comparatively sketchy, and the bottom of her hair isn't quite right, but they're barely noticeable.
the tree is really nicely painted too, very subtly toned in brown and green. Its face looks so right, like all trees have faces like this.

I think it just looks soft. Ok, the pink flowers were a little blobby. But you drew my attention to the shirt, which is fairly well done (creased and crumpled looking, but not turbulent seas in a storm). You are still coming out on top.

It's really really good, I love it!
I'm not going to point out all the positive stuff, cause there's a lot of that ^^
The only thing that my novice eyes caugh is that the tree seem a bit...euh, flat? (i think that's the word)
But I love all the rest, color, expressions, the closed eyes of the tree that we expect to open at any time, etc.
And also the way you cut (?)the painting, because we have to imagine what we can't see, and what's going to happen.
So all in all good work

I agree with you on the forum post, because this one is more inrtiguing with the face. it reminds me of the movie Pocahontas and that Grandmotehr willow tree n shit. which.... it also reminded u of it too (damn u)
And the caption fits ur work. and its a good message. when ppl are cuttin down the trees and destroying the earth, try to make a difference.
anyway, to the detailing of the picture. first of all, it looks like tedious work that i would chop my hand off over. good work wit the depth of the folds of the clothes on the little girl, the tree itself, and all. the hair is stradny enough. dammit, this is just beautiful.

Did you know that the first thing that the human brain reconises is the human face so that's why we often look for faces in things without knowing.

The little story that you've added makes it so much more poignant, it's a beautiful piece and it looks like the child is really listening hard to her mother tree talking, her expression is fantastic.
