This Cubone is still very much a child in many ways. She is very naive when it comes to appearances and the like, not to mention if someone with bad intentions were to come around and tell her otherwise she would not give it a second thought if it pulls her heart strings. If not... well, give her a treat or two and she will believe almost anything you say and temporarily gain her trust. Of course, this girl is not as dim-witted as you would think. She knows what is right and what is wrong. She was raised to be polite, quiet, calm, as well as weary. Her Cubone lonely nature never seems to get the best of her, but her timid nature does. She is very shy and when stressed to a point she will start to cry, sometimes she will even cry without a reason! What a crybaby! You cannot deny her good-natured heart. She will help those in need, in any way she can, if possible. She does have a stubborn streak in her so be on guard! She is also a curious little thing... You might just have to keep an eye on this one.

History

As a mourning wail of a child cries out into the night a man slowly made his way past the covered body of his only son. A hollow in his chest and a pit in his stomach as he looked to the child who was all that was left of his son. He saw nothing of his son in her, only that of the woman that stole his son away from him. He wanted to hate her, wanted to turn away and slam the door from her. She was almost an adult, he told himself. She could make it in this world, somehow, he wouldn't care.

He knew these words were a lie. They were only brought on by grief and anger. Grief of losing his son who had thrown what life his own father had worked so hard for him to have, and anger for the woman that he viewed as the cause for it.

This child was all that he had left of his son...

"Papa! Papa!" The young girl hiccuped, tears streaming down her face. "Please Papa, wake up! Don't leave me, please!" Why? Why did they leave her alone? Why did her papa have to go too? Papa had told her he would stay with her... he wouldn't leave. LIAR!!!

The old man bent and picked up the wailing child, holding her firmly in his arms as he took her out of the room that was filled with a doctor and close friends and relatives that she did not know. He took her into a room in which she had never seen and one that would never feel like home to her. It would also one day, hold her most cherished memories, even lock some of herself inside.

"No! Let me go, no!!! PAPA!!!" She did not know this man who claimed to be her grandfather, she did not sense any love in those cold eyes, a wrinkled face that wore an unfeeling and hard mask. She did not want to be here, she did not want to know this man. She wanted to go back to how it used to be. Just Mama, Papa, and her.

But... it never would return to that...

Years had passed and everything had seemed to calm. The cold faces that followed her from the start of her stay had softened, though not many. She had learned the duties of a lady, the ways to be a wife, and the lifestyle of the Courtier in the room given to her. It was a safe haven for her in this empty house. The man she called Grandfather had showed her much kindness, but little warmth. She returned all the depts she felt needed to be paid in being a quiet and loving granddaughter, trying to be a perfect child in ways that she thought would please the man that was the last of bit she had of her father, last part of her family that would accept her. He had let her keep her father's family name, stay in his household, learn what he wanted to teach her. She had everything could have ever wanted, but she still felt empty.

Would... she ever get this hollow feeling out of her...?

Of course she would, she had already found things that helped her get through the worst of times. Dancing had helped her forget the sadness, dancing was something that her mother had taught her at a young age. It was her love of dancing she would never forget, it was part of her body and soul. It was the rhythm that beat inside and motivated her to go on! To grow and stay strong! Painting was yet another talent and joy that helped her along the rainy days. The smooth feel of the paint on her fingertips, the swift elegant stroke of a paintbrush. It made her remember all the lessons her father taught her. The happy days in which seemed so far away, she could feel them coming closer with each swipe of a wrist. She could almost touch those memories of warmth and love again.

It wasn't enough. She wanted more.

"Why can't I dance? H-Have I not done everything you have t-told me to Grandfather?" Mei-Xiu pleaded, she had gone to the stage and watched actors, dancers, artists of all kinds lose themselves in what they loved most from afar. She wanted desperately to join them as well.

"NO! You are a Courtier, you are not some Geisha born of low class and bred to do nothing but entertain the minds. Not my granddaughter! You are born of noble blood and must act as so!" His aged face turned red with fury. He would not lose what he had already once lost.

"But-" she started once more.

"I will not have it!" He cut her off, his words were final. It was obvious he would not move from it. His face had softened, but his eyes were still cold. "I am doing what is best for you... and if you want to dance so much I shall have tutors come in and teach you so that you may do so during festivals. You can dance for our family and close friends during those happy times."

"Yes, thank you Grandfather..."

Of course the girl had no intentions of going against her father, but...

A fated encounter would alter her coming days...

One morning during her usual stroll, Mei-Xiu had happened upon a lost and rather friendly and energetic Sylveon girl named Mimoto. She had come from Noir Vale in hopes of finding work and making new friends in the Radiant Harbor that had been away from the other villages for so long. Mei-Xiu had found it impossible for herself to travel outside of her own village, but here was this brave young girl, younger than she, who had done just that. Mei-Xiu was more than happy to show this stranger around her home, the two becoming friends quite quickly. The girls shared stories and Mei-Xiu had even opened up to the girl about her love of Dancing and Painting.
It was through Mimoto's daily encouragement that had pushed Mei-Xiu to take the courage and strength to perform on stage for the first time. It was something to behold, her heart had beat to the music that was being played, all eyes on her. Mei-Xiu had felt so bright and alive in those few moments on stage. She cried at the end, thanking her friend for making this all able to happen. She would never forget her friend's kind words and encouragement before and after her performance. Mei-Xiu would never stop performing. Not with knowing how dancing on stage made her feel now. She couldn't turn back if she wanted to.

However, all things must come to an end...

As Mei-Xiu continued to perform, her fame very slowly grew. Of course she had known better than to show her true face whilst dancing in front of many people. People that might know her face, fellow Courtiers, family members. She painted her face as pale as the moon and wore long attire that seemed too extravagant for the simple Cubone girl. She knew she was still recognizable. It was only a matter of time before she knew her grandfather would figure out her secret lifestyle. He would have too, if it hadn't been for a wise young woman's advice and friendly tips. The woman was beautiful and played her flute so well, it was a wonder how she wasn't famous through the country! Xi's warmth and love that she shared freely with Mei-Xiu filled the Cubone up with so much happiness she didn't know what to do with. Not to mention help her along with her career in dancing. She also figured out that Xi was a visitor from Noir Vale as well, just like Mimoto. It wasn't long until this three girls became a trio, something Mei-Xiu needed.
