Description Please excuse the pun in the name, but that is what this wound "affectionately" became known as, to the first aid instructors whose courses I used to do make-up for.

Nice comment! Thanks for the humor. This was always a fun piece to do, and what made it so good was that I always used real glass ...

Well, it definitely looks real! The picture looks somewhat old and is fairly low in quality making it seem even more realistic. Again, awesome work!

BTW, I like your long hair. I have three (3) boys. Two (2) of them have really long hair. They get teased a little bit but they look really great!

Hey Ian. We're actually the same age ... so maybe it's time for a cut???? LOL

IanITAInc In reply to BLOODSTORME [2012-06-23 15:12:15 +0000 UTC]

Nah! I wish I had long hair! When growing your hair out, there is always an awkward period where your hair is not long enough and looks awful so that's why I can't seem to start the process. So before getting a cut, make sure that you're not going to regret it! Keep it at least for another few years. Then go bald!!! lol

BLOODSTORME In reply to IanITAInc [2012-06-26 11:21:23 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I know that awkward period you speak of, though I haven't been through it for some time ...

I think I will keep it after all. I just can't bring myself to cut it. It's become an obsession!!!

I like to call it the "samson" syndrome, but I'm sure some harlett will convince to me to cut it some day.

may I say this is exceptionally well done o.O
well, I don't understand why some students find it stressful.
it must be cool to see it in real life +yah I'm morbid sooo +

BLOODSTORME In reply to Mischx [2008-02-13 04:07:03 +0000 UTC]

*LOL* When you are not expecting it, it's quite a shock to see. The other thing is that eyes are very personal, and people take it badly when someones eye has a piece of glass protruding from it.

BLOODSTORME In reply to slayerv2 [2006-08-22 09:29:58 +0000 UTC]

Yes it does ... and for such a small injury, it has caused many a first-aider to gasp in shock ...

Injuries of the face, especially the eyes, is very personal, and we feel more for those kinds of wounds than others, simply because they remind us of how horrible it would be if it happened to us. They really "open up our eyes" ...

Oooh, ouch! Seeing that send chills down my spine. *shrudders* I think I won't be wearing my glasses for at least a day or so, just 'til this image gets out of my head.

so was this also for first aid competition, right? cool one pic!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

BLOODSTORME In reply to narel [2006-07-26 08:46:49 +0000 UTC]

Yes this was a first aid injury as well. Once I saw a first-aider (who was crouched beside the victim), audibly gasp and fall over backwards when he took the person's hands away from his face and saw the injury. It was times like that that I knew I had done my job ...

I've also seen people doing many stupid things wich are actually unneccesary and wrong.

*LOL* Well thank you ... (I think)

It is a very effective piece of make-up, considering it's small size. I think it looks so effective because I always use real glass in it.

This little effect got HUGE response in the classes we did. It was very dramatic for such a small wound, and quite a few students failed their courses due to the stress it caused them. It's a very 'personal' wound, so it's pretty distressing to see, even fake.
