Description
Previously:
Their travel had come a long way, along many rivers, through valleys, traversing vast forests, and following high mountain ridges. It had a very specific effect on his heart and soul to travel through his homecountry in such a way. He remembered the stories, of the nomadic lifestyle. Sándor himself was mostly stationary in the homestable of his uncle, but with the recent changes and experiences he made, concerning Silviu, his family, as well as the extended family he got into contact with, he got thinking.
Would he even fit in with all those changes? Would he need to carve out a new spot for himself? Was that even accepted?
A louder caw ripped him out of his thoughts. When looking up he realized how late it had gotten. With the sun setting it was only a matter of time until they were urged to seek shelter. They were close to home, he was sure. Another caw echoed, this time drawing his attention to the crow that was sitting on his shoulder. It hopped excitedly, as if to wait to be properly looked at, before jumping higher and flying off with more excited caws. Bartgeier pricked his ears, getting equally drawn in. It was time.
With the avian companion leading the way, the whole group fell into a faster pace, all sticking together. Sándor held his falcon companion close to keep them warm while glancing back to the other two stallions, who ploughed through the snow in a near playful way.
This was their home.. and no worry in the world would be able to taint that feeling...
Next: Exchange of Knowledge
And here their endurance challenge, which had become so much more for the forestwarden, ends. He hopes to maybe mill over some more thoughts during the TWD, as he definitely has more to figure out. But for now, he feels content and ready to tackle the next challenge.
