Description

With a slight wiggle of his chin Sully brushed off some ice crystals that had formed in his beard. The air was crisp and cold; demanding and hostile to the lungs. His companion felt it too but he didn't seem too bothered by it. Their day was mostly spent by trotting along one of the forest trails to ensure safe traveling to any rider who might follow them. Sully shifted his seat a bit and pushed his tool-bag up to properly support it on his shoulder. Abajo was more and more attracted by the side of the trail and his human companion noticed it. He was eyeing the open fields that were visible through the rows of trees. Those snow-covered plains always caught his attention, no matter how often they were out here. He could barely contain an excited neigh when Sully softly switched his position, the change of pressure signaling the equine to get going and follow his desire. Abajo immediately turned towards the treeline, away from the path and into the deeper snow. Upon reaching the border of the forest Abajo nearly burst out of the underbrush only to continue his mad dash down the hill.

For a moment Sully was distracted by the landscape around them. The sun had broken through partially to fight off the cold grayish veil that covered most of the land. Snow was glittering on the trees, sunrays bouncing off of little crystals, wind carrying away dustclouds of snow. Everything seemed so calm and serene.... until the bellowing call.

He didn't notice that Abajo was rushing straight into a little group of deer. A handful immediately scattered and ran for the trees but a small part stayed in front of them. For a moment he wasn't sure if they were actually fleeing. Expecting them to enjoy their interruption would be a bit of a Disney-branded thought pattern though. Sully felt Abajo react to them, his body twisting and following the temptation of cutting one of them off. His companion directed his attention somewhere else though, signaling him that it was not the time for this kind of work now.

Down the hill the last of the animals scattered until only Sully and Abajo were plowing through the snow. When they reached the next path both were huffing, pleased with themselves but feeling the strain of the deep snow. Trailwork was a necessary duty but sometimes you just had to relax and let loose.

There is no area too cold that would keep that hot-headed pair indoors! Despite their heritage both enjoy the cold a lot! Sully has always traveled a lot from one climate to the other and his number one location has everything in store when it comes to seasonal changes, be it hot summers or cold winters. So neither he nor his companion stop when it comes to a mad dash through snowy hills and forests. An ability that will help both of them tremendously in the upcoming adventures.
